This lemurs main traits include a Golden Sherbert Coat, Albino Red Eyes, Curled Tail, Medium Size and Normal Head.

After lemurs mate, a variety of new combinations can be found in new breeds. It is up to you to discover unique traits through cycles of breeding. Main traits include multiple coat textures, eye colors, tails, sizes, and head or ear shapes. As new main traits are discovered they will appear on this website, including the avatar who discovered the traits and when they were found.

GENETICS

Lemurs have traits which control their appearance. These traits may pass on to offspring when they mate.

Lemurs contain some hidden traits that can become visible in their offspring, but may not appear on the parents.

Hidden traits can also be inherited from throughout the family line. A lemur born with a new eye trait may have a grandparent who has it as a hidden trait even though it does not appear on the grandparent. If you breed that grandparent again however, it can appear in another offspring. If you breed the lemur that has the new eye trait already displayed, it has a greater likelihood to pass it onto future generations.

In addition, a lemur may "mutate" and display a random trait that is not inherited through the genetic line. Once the mutated trait is displayed, it too has a greater likelihood to pass to future generations.

BREEDING

The best method for a breeder to adopt in order to pass a down a trait they desire is to breed two lemurs that have that same displayed trait together. The family history is also considered, so having an established history for that trait will further increase the likelihood that it will be passed on.

It is possible to back breed or line breed depending on the strength of the trait in the line. For example, if a grandparent has displayed gold eyes and their grandchild has displayed gold eyes, then breeding them together can increase the likelihood of gold eyes in future generations. However, if a grandparent does not have displayed gold eyes, it is better to find another lemur with displayed gold eyes to increase the likelihood of the gold eye trait.

The direct offspring of Starter lemurs will show more varied traits because they do not have an established family tree. More often this variety will generally be from the Common tier of traits, however in the future there is a chance a Starter lemur will display traits from other tiers as well.
